Social Responsibility Activities of MEF Schools Over
The Years
Every year, MEF Schools support various activities as their
exemplary corporate citizenship dictates. Throughout the
years, MEF Schools serve in projects with students, teachers
and all the employees fulfilling the social responsibilities.
Below are the major projects:
In the 2003-2004 academic year,
Especially Guidance and Psychological Counselling Department
of MEF Schools assumed a leading role in social activities:
- 'Giants' School' and 'Wishing Tree' projects.
- Support to LÖSEV campaign.
- Yedikule Animal Shelter project.
- 'Social Service Project' for homeless children.
- 'Hasan Tan Nursery School' weekend activity project.
- Students of MEF International School held a 'Blood
Donation Campaign' in co-operation with Cerrahpaşa Medical
School.
In the 2002-2003 academic year;

Donations: Various aid packages
were extended to Beykoz Elmal? Village Elementary School
and Adile Sultan Teachers' Rest Home as well as donations
to students in other needy regions.

In the name of Ege Orhan, our student
whom we lost to cancer in 1998, a charity campaign was
held to build a patient room in the Oncology Department
of Cerrahpaşa Medical School.

As part of 'Everything For Children'
activity sponsorship of Ayhan Şahenk Foundation, MEF
Schools organised a charity drive to buy a touring health
vehicle.

MEF Schools hosted the ELT (English
Language Teaching) Conference.
In the 2001-2002 academic year;

Donations: Books and study material
were donated to Bahçelievler, Küçükyal? and Eyüp Nursery
Schools and a village in the eastern province of Ağrı.

"Support to Mothers Project"
was executed with the co-operation of Beşiktaş Municipality,
the MOCEF Foundation and MEF Schools.

MEF Schools hosted the IB Day in
Turkey.
In the 2000-2001 academic year;

Donations: supplied the various needs
of Semiha Şakir Rest Home and Nursery School, Arif Nihat
Asya Elementary School, Validebağ Rest Home and Aziz
Nesin Foundation.

Preparation camp of Turkish Chess
Federation National Team and Sub-national Team was hosted.
Support to chess has continued with main sponsorship
of Turkish Chess Federation Age Groups Tournament.

Forestation of Beşiktaş Municipality
Disasater Education Centre was initiated.

"Literature Education in High
Schools" workshop was organised co-operatively
with Modern Life Support Association.
In the 1999-2000 academic year;

An ultrasound scanning machine and
a printer were donated to İzmit SSK Hospital.

Sponsorship of Taksim Rotary Club's
painting competition with 'My Dreams' theme was undertaken.

A library was built in and books
were donated to Kılıç Ali Paşa Elementary School.
